Jacqui's Christian faith forms the basis of all her textiles and her work often includes words which form part of the narrative. Whether the resulting textile is decorative, illustrative or conceptual it will have sprung from an idea which has captivated her!
Current Exhibitions
There are now eight sets of screens on creation, angels, the journey, water of life, beatitudes, prayer, rites of passage, the lord's prayer which are exhibited at various cathedrals including Bristol, Coventry, Exeter, Gloucester, Rochester and York Minster. Do check cathedral web sites or phone to ask if there is an exhibition currently on site.
Jacqui has just started her PhD at Plymouth University with the working title How can meaning be derived from the use of stitch as a narrative for the 'inner journey' of the contemporary artist? The study will involve both practical and theoretical work and will involve lots of exhibitions to elicit responses from individuals ... if you would like to be involved in the research do email.
