Commissions
Jacqui works from her studio in Bovey Tracey, Devon, where she designs her original textiles. She works with Ruth Field on the laying out and stitching of large commissions. The smaller pieces are all worked on exclusively by Jacqui and, because they are hand crafted, are never exact copies.
If you would like to commission a piece Jacqui would be delighted if you contacted her. She loves to do pieces for churches to challenge and stir people to a deeper relationship with Christ. She is happy to work on pieces to be placed in 'secular' sites to engage people in a dialogue, and would value her work being placed in 'care establishments' to encourage those in need and those visiting.
Jacqui will make a site visit for larger commissions and likes to discuss fully the needs and aspirations of those sponsoring the work. These conversations are all taken into consideration while working on the design plans and ultimately a proposal is submitted which can be changed, if necessary, before work is started.
Jacqui is also working on commissions for individual homes and usually these are discussed over the telephone. Designs can be 'obviously Christian' in content or 'un-obviously Christian' in content! It seems that many people like a piece of work which raises questions for their friends and family.
Work For Sale
These pieces arise from the larger commissions and change periodically - usually there are 3 to 6 designs that can be purchased at any given time. All are worked by hand and although designs are followed they will never be 'exact copies'. The current designs all cost £100 framed in white and £80 unframed (plus post and package) and the designs are all 30 sq cms while the frames are 53 sq cms. ... sin is not a popular word in a post modern world... but the wrong we do often appears like bright red stitching on a white background
... we re-run scenarios, we see the devastation our actions bring about, there seems no end to failure ... but God offers to 'unpick' the work for us and replace it with words of forgiveness ...
... though your sins are red like scarlet they shall be white as snow...
... although the consequences of sin remain ... the ends of threads and the pricks of the needle ... in Christ we can have real freedom from the corruption of sin ...
food for thought
- worked in shades of white and cream, this work is subtle and 'draws the viewer in' to read the words stitched in white this is my body - broken for you
- the circle of bread symbolises the completed work of Christ upon the cross
- the many layers of fabric used for the bread represent the body of Christ broken for all people
- the words surrounding the central image remind us that whenever we eat bread we do this remembering Christ

the cross
- the gold silk cross is laid on a linen background and words are hand stitched through the layers and the wadding
- the 'blanket' effect gives a different view of the cross - from the harsh, cruel place it undoubtedly was to the 'comfort' it can be for those who come to understand the cross as the only way to relationship with the Father who is our 'comfort'
- there is a choice of words from Isaiah:
PEACE WAS UPON HIM, AND BY HIS WOUNDS WE ARE HEALED - WE ALL, LIKE SHEEP HAVE GONE ASTRAY, EACH OF US HAS TURNED TO HIS OWN WAY AND THE LORD HAS LAID ON HIM THE INIQUITY OF US ALL [NIV]

Screens and Banners For Sale
Individual creation and the journey screens are available for sale - they can also be purchased as banners with metal rods for hanging. Each one is approx 1.7m [60"] high and 0.5m [18"] wide and costs between £200 and £400 depending on the amount of work involved. They are ideal as a focal point in any church or community setting.
